Mike Cassidy

Program Director

Michael Cassidy grew up in Burke, Virginia before taking his talents to Averett University to play baseball as a 3-year starter while earning a degree in sports management. He was a founder and director of the VBC Occoquan/NOVA South Academy facility from 2008-2013. Mike was an assistant varsity coach at Bishop O‘Connell High School from 2008-2012, and an assistant varsity coach at Lake Braddock Secondary School in 2013. Cassidy served as an assistant coach at Marymount University from 2013-21. Mike was also the head coach of the Martha’s Vineyard Sharks in 2016 and 2017 in the Futures Collegiate League in New England and was the pitching coach for the FCA Braves in the Cal Ripken Collegiate league in 2018.

Mike is currently the Head Coach at Marymount University beginning in the 2022 season and a founder and director at Metropolitan Baseball Academy.

Mike Gallagher

Program Director

Mike has spent the majority of his baseball career in the Northern Virginia area where his accomplishments include being an All-District high school player, American Legion All-Star and All-Conference collegiate player at Shenandoah University. For five years, Mike coached at Hayfield High School in Alexandria, VA where he served as a varsity assistant, head JV coach, and head varsity coach. In 2006, Mike was named the 2006 Patriot District Coach of the Year for the Hayfield Hawks, leading the Hawks to a school-record 17 wins and an overall record of 17-6 (13-3). Mike also served as the head varsity baseball coach at Bishop Ireton High School in Alexandria, VA from 2007–2013. Mike was named the 2008 Washington Catholic Athletic Conference (WCAC) Coach of the Year after leading the Cardinals to the school’s first-ever WCAC title game. The Cardinals repeated their trip to the WCAC finals in 2009. Mike was also the founder and owner of Dominion Baseball Academy and the former DBA Dragons travel baseball program. The Dragons, established in 2006, have sent several players on to college baseball. Dominion Baseball and the Dragons program beginning in 2015 transitioned to Metro Baseball Academy and the Metro Senators.

Mike resides in Manassas, VA with his wife Kristin and 2 children Ryan and Phoebe.

Rick Hart

Head Coach

Coach Hart has been coaching elite level baseball for over 40 years and has an exceptional resume. He is a native of Providence, Rhode Island and played his college baseball at Old Dominion University. Rick started his coaching career in Norfolk, Virginia. He was the head coach at Bishop O’Connell High School until his retirement in 2012. Rick was the head coach of the school’s 2011 team, which holds the school record for most wins in a single season. Coach Hart was named WCAC Coach of the Year multiple times. In 2000 he was one of the co-founders of the Virginia Barnstormers. That program won 3 NABF national championships under his leadership, and produced hundreds of college baseball players and numerous professional baseball players. In 2012, Coach Hart transitioned the Virginia Barnstormers to the Virginia Shamrocks, a team that helped more than 20 players reach the college level in just two years. Rick has personal relationships with almost every college coach in the nation and a vast number of professional organizations.

Dan Raley

Head Coach / Hitting Instructor

Coach Dan Raley is known as one of the best hitting instructors in the country. Coach Raley helped lead nearby Potomac (VA) High School to a state championship in 1983 before going on to earn All-American honors and play in the College World Series while at Wichita State University. He later played in the Detroit Tigers organization before he serving as a Minor League hitting instructor for 4 years. Dan coached with the Vienna Senators of the Clark C. Griffin Collegiate Baseball League (CGL) and helped lead the team to 7 championships. He is currently an assistant varsity baseball coach at Potomac High School.

Chris Warren

Head Coach

Chris is currently the Head Coach of Episcopal HS in Alexandria. Chris has also been the Head Coach at Woodson HS in Fairfax. Chris has worked with USA baseball, run numerous Showcase team including the Virginia Barnstormers who have placed hundreds of players into the college and professional ranks.

Tim Alley

Head Coach

Coach Alley was a four year varsity player at Eaglecrest High School in Aurora, Co. Upon graduation he received a scholarship to Lamar Community College in Lamar, Co subsequently transferred to the University of Northern Colorado.

Coach Alley began coaching in 2005 at Hayfield HS, and then onto West Springfield HS as a Varsity Asst from 2008-11. Coach Alley has coached for the Dominion Baseball Academy and Metropolitan Baseball Academy on and off since 2005.

Conner Hall

Head Coach / Hitting/Catching and Pitching Instructor

As a player, Conner played at Edison High School. Following his high school career, Conner went on to play at Marymount University where he was a four year starter, earning All-Conference honors three of his four years, and All-State and All-Region honors his Junior season. Conner is now an assistant coach at Marymount University, and is a head coach for the Metropolitan Senators.

Ryan Schubert

Head Coach

As a player, Coach Schubert was a four-year member and a team captain of the Longwood University baseball team. In 2012 he made 17 appearances – 4-1 with a 2.60 ERA. Ryan was a standout at Annandale High School where he was a two-time All-District Pitcher. Coach Schubert received his degree from Longwood, majoring in kinesiology, including a concentration in exercise science. After graduating from Longwood, Coach Schubert spent 2 seasons as the Varsity Pitching Coach at Annandale High school, then spent one season as a Varsity Pitching Coach at West Springfield High School, and most recently spent 2 seasons as an Assistant Coach at Marymount University. Coach Schubert is now a lead instructor for Metro Baseball Academy as well as a Head Coach of the Metro Senators Varsity team.

Brian Blanton

Asst Coach

Coach Blanton is currently the Head JV Coach at Potomac HS in Dumfries VA. Brian serves as the Senators JV South Asst Coach. A 4 year player at Potomac HS from 2011 - 2014.

Ryan Napolitano

Asst Coach

Coach Nap is the Asst 14u Senators Coach. Ryan has also been a Head Coach in the Senators program at the 13u age level. Former Asst. Coach at Marymount University, and Former Collegiate Player at Mary Washington University.

Garrett Driscoll

Asst Coach

Coach Driscoll joins the Senators Coaching staff after finishing a solid 4 year career at George Mason University. Garrett a Pitcher and Catcher for the Patriots had 35 Hits and 24 RBIs in the 2016 campaign. A graduate and standout player at Lake Braddock HS as well.

Hayden Basse

Coach Basse is in his 1st season with the Senators program. Hayden was a standout player at Oconnell HS and Arlington VA. Hayden pitched for the Tigers at Hampton-Sydney College for the last 4 seasons.

Brian Carmichael

Asst Coach - Pitching

Attended and played baseball at Centreville High School from 2011-2015. Earned Conference 5 Honorable Mention in 2015. Played under coach Frank Leoni at Marymount University from 2015-2019. Studied Health Sciences Pre-Physical Therapy, and earned Atlantic East Conference All-Academic team 2019

Sean Prince

Head Coach

Coach Prince is in his 4th season with the Senators coaching staff. Sean has coached teams ranging from 15u - 18u within the program. Former ALL Washington Catholic HS player at Oconnell HS in Arlington VA. Sean has since joined the Coaching staff at Oconnell and is currently a Varsity Asst Coach. Sean graduated from George Mason University and is a 7th grade PE teacher in the Arlington Diocese.
